At the end, right before the ladder is done, the missiles will do a huge carpet bomb of the area. You’ll need to hammer the umbrellas open if they close shut. You can use the open umbrellas as temporary cover to protect you from a hit. You’ll now need to avoid the missiles raining from above! Keep moving around the building. Hammer it to make the ladder drop VERY slowly. Then, walk over to the large red button on the side of the building. Make sure all the tables have their umbrellas open. You’ll also find a heart inside the coffee shop. Take a breather and break the boxes on the floor. With the fence broken, go inside the seating area. While you’re doing this, you’ll still need to watch out for the missiles coming from the sides as well. After seeing the reticles target onto the spot Mario is standing on, move Mario out of the way to make the missile destroy the fence. Look for the reticles that the missiles use to target. Place Mario in front of the fence with the hole in it. They’ll start locking onto Mario and even attacking for the foreground. Your Hammer won’t be able to knock it down, but the missiles will!Īfter fending off the missiles for a bit, their behavior changes. Keep going to the back until you reach the fence with the hole in it. Mario can fend them off with his Hammer and can jump on top of them like an enemy. This will trigger the next event, which involves having to dodge giant colored pencil missiles! Follow the ledge to get to the back side of the building. The Chef will give you enough confetti to fix Not-Bottomless Hole#3. After taking care of those pests in the restaurant, go back to the storage room and talk to the Chef Toad. You know you’ve gotten all the critters when the music goes back to normal. In the dining area: the sign on the wall with the dinnerplate, on the wall behind the serving cart (you’ll need to stand near the doorway to the kitchen and hammer the cart so that it moves to the right), on the wall above the cabinet with the dishes (after moving the cart, use it to get on top the the cabinet). Some particularly tricky spots in the kitchen are: under the trash can, on top of plates, inside the pot with the frowny face (Mario can fit inside it to squish the thing inside). You can use the images below as a reference to give you an idea of where they can be. When you think you’ve got all the ones in the kitchen, move into the dining area. A few have wings and will fly around the room to escape. You’ll still need to squish it to take it out completely. If you see one of these suckers stuck on Mario, spin around quickly in a tight circle to shake it loose. Some might even jump and latch themselves onto Mario. Be careful –they can hurt you as they scurry by. You can easily squish the things by hammering them or jumping on them. These things go everywhere in the kitchen and the dining area! You’ll need to squish all of them to complete this task. Hammer the box to release a swarm of tiny Origami Goombas. Inside the kitchen, open the double doors on the left. Hammer the area to rescue a Toad.Īfter taking care of all the Toads in the restaurant, it’s time to take care of the problem the Chef mentioned.

Go toward the foreground until you reach a stack of white bowls. Then jump to the shelf on the right side.

Toad Rescue #12: In the kitchen, from the shelf with the scale, jump onto the top part of the carrot.Hammering it gives you 100% ?-Block completion! You can tell where it is from all the pencil marks around the area. If you help him, he’ll help you! Before going to the restaurant, get the Hidden ?-Block next to the box in the back of the room. The chef will tell you there is a problem in the restaurant. This will cause a Toad to come out from behind the large boxes on the right wall. Walk over to it and Olivia will comment about the stairs being destroyed. Inside the storage room you’ll find Not-Bottomless Hole#3. When you reach the second floor, go through the door on the left side. With confetti in your bag, walk over to the left side of the first floor and use the confetti to fix Not-Bottomless Hole#2. Defeat them in battle and collect their precious confetti. When you reach the first floor again, you’ll be ambushed by a group of Origami Goombas. As you make your way up the tower, your elevator ride will be cut short by an attack of colorful sticks! Use your Hammer to hit and remove all the imbedded pencils.
